The purpose of this study was to determine if non-thrust manual therapy attenuated side-to-side differences (asymmetry) of the erector spinae stretch reflex amplitude in nine patients with chronic low back pain. Electromechanical tapping was used to elicit short-latency stretch reflexes from the ES muscles before and after non-thrust MT.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of myofascial trigger point massage in the muscles of the head, neck and shoulders regarding pain in the treatment of females with chronic tension-type headache. They were randomized into either a treatment group (one session of trigger point massage per week for 10 weeks) or a control group receiving no treatment.

Healthy young women ages 18 to 30-years-old were recruited from among the students of a university medical center after a request for volunteers. Joint manipulation consisted of the supine rotational glide manipulation for the sacroiliac region. PPT measurements from the PSIS and Hoffman-reflex (H-reflex) amplitudes from the tibial nerve on the same side were recorded before and after joint manipulation. PPT was monitored for 15 minutes and H-reflex for 20 minutes after the procedure.

Thirty-two women with sacroiliac joint syndrome were randomly divided into two groups of 16 subjects. One group received the high-velocity low-amplitude manipulation to the SIJ and the other group received both SIJ and lumbar HVLA manipulation to both the SIJ and lumbar spine in a single session. The objective of this trial was to compare the effect of SIJ manipulation with SIJ and lumbar manipulation for the treatment of SIJ syndrome.
