This case series addresses several examples of isolated calcaneofibular ligament injuries and potential mechanisms of injury. Though previously assumed to be an uncommon injury, it should be considered in patients that have ankle inversion injuries or post-inversion sequelae that do not fit the classic inversion sprain criteria. The application of osteopathic manipulative treatment to treating isolated calcaneofibular ligament injuries is instructive of the efficacy of the osteopathic approach in these cases and suggests that further research is warranted.

The objective of this case study was to review the effectiveness of manipulative therapy in the treatment of long-standing foot pain. The method in which this study was carried out was through a retrospective review on the treatment of a single subject with a 5-year history of foot pain. In conclusion, this case suggests that manipulative therapy may be a valid approach in the treatment of foot pain. Such intervention receives some support from the literature and warrants further research.

Headache is the common symptom in patients with cervical artery dissection. However, it rarely occurs in isolation, without focal neurological signs, and even more rarely mimics migraine. Spontaneous CAD can be associated with minor traumas of various origin, including stretches, sudden neck movements and chiropractic manipulation. Given the unprecedented growth of the osteopathic profession in the past few decades, osteopathic clinical education has been turbulent. Maintaining a unique osteopathic professional identity during the years of clinical training has been difficult because of limited DO preceptors, time constraints and the hesitancy of MD preceptors to embrace osteopathic tenets as well as manual medicine. The objective of this research was to delineate student feelings about sustaining their osteopathic uniqueness in a "dually accredited" system and the ability of this system to meet the needs of osteopathic students.

Obesity is frequently associated with various musculoskeletal disorders including chronic low back pain. Osteopathy is a discipline emphasizing the conservative treatment of the disease in a holistic vision. The authors designed a randomized controlled study to investigate whether osteopathic manipulative treatment combined with specific exercises is more effective than SE alone in obese patients with cLBP.
