School Overview
Establish for 40 years the ESO is validated by Bucks New University and has RQ status from the General Osteopathic Council in the UK. We are the only UK based OsEAN member. Education is basically split between pre-clinical (years 1&2) and clinical education (years 3&4). As a validated course there are a number of level 7 elements including reflective writing, dissertation and critical thinking designed to challenge the traditional concepts of osteopathy in an increasingly evidence influenced healthcare system. This is tested during the clinical programme of our course. Our undergraduate clinic delivers circa 20,000 treatments a year with a number of specialist clinics including infant and children, maternity, women’s health, headache and a Perrin clinic treating patients with ME/CFS as well general clinic and sports. We provide structured 3-5 day seminars for a number of EU schools and so are used to having observers and visitors. Observers can join theory and practical lectures in term times at our Boxley House campus set in 16 acres of parkland, as well as observing at our teaching clinic in Maidstone which is open all year.
