Second annual All Members Meeting, September 2021
The second annual All Members “live” Meeting in 2021 was also held online. It was on the 22nd September 2022, the day before the 7th Open Forum for Osteopathic Education conference, “Teaching the Working Principles of Osteopathy”. The meeting was only one day long. During the meeting all important matters for OsEAN and its members were discussed such as:
- the Open Forum 2021 – programme and participant numbers;
- when and where would be the next live meetings:
- in Vienna, Austria on 23rd & 24th May 2022
- Antwerp, Belgium on 28th September 2022
- Saronno, Italy on 9th & 11th May 2023
- Amsterdam, Netherlands October 2023 - what topics the members would like to discuss and what kind of workshops would they like to attend in the future. Here are some examples:
- compare organizational structures in the school. How do you distribute tasks? How many people do you supervise directly how many indirectly? - Raimund
- Osteopathic identity crisis – Rob
- leadership and organisation. - Daniel
- research and how you can teach evidence based - Daniel
- make bigger research projects to which students can subscribe - Rob
- succession: how and who can do this. Is there a market for schools? How to find who will take over? – Rob & Raimund
- how to make OsEAN a tool for publishing papers
- Colloquium – status present
- Results from Working groups
- Simulations on good practice on methodologies - the topics of the next Open Forum 2022 were also discussed and a decision was taken - the 8th OsEAN Open Forum Conference will have the topic “Teaching Clinical Competencies” and it will be held in Antwerp, Belgium on 29th and 30th September 2022;
- the news from the schools;
- re-opening the student exchange programme
Also the Annual General Meeting took place during this meeting. Robert Muts and Jöry Pauwels were nominated as board members and accepted as such. Robert Muts was elected as president. Congratulations and welcome back on bo(a)rd Rob!
Also the Belgian School BELSO was accepted as OsEAN Associated Member. Congratulations!
The overall motto of the meeting was “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!”
